*We want this to be a community event that brings people from different backgrounds and world views into one room to discuss important matters. We are asking for the christian community to not invite more Christians but instead invite people/friends from a different perspective than their own. Same goes for the atheist community. In short, we would love this event to be diverse and not one sided.

An example:
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook made $9,222,638 in 2014, more than double what he pulled in the year before. Cook wasn't awarded any stock in 2013, but in 2011 he was awarded about $376 million in restricted stock units that will turn into shares he can sell over the next decade.

A highly paid engineer makes about $200,000.  Cook made 46x that.   Min. wage is about $21,000 in California.  Cook made 439x that.

JP Moreland and bogus arguments for God's existence.

JP Moreland is a professor at Biola University, and travels to different places giving lectures on Christian apologetics (a defense of the faith).  One of his usual lectures is "The Evidence for God" as seen in this YouTube video:
"Arguments for the Existence of God | J. P. Moreland, PhD"  https://youtu.be/b2WZHYas6XY  .

He will be in Eugene Oregon on March 11, 2016 (along with Craig Hazen and Clay Jones, two other Biola professors).  Event details can be found here: http://www.biola.edu/on-the-road/eugene/ .  I will also be in town prior to this event, to debunk their false logic.  Event info is here: http://www.meetup.com/WestsideTalk/events/228833084/ .

So what is one of his "evidences" for the existence of God? Simply this: that God is required in order to have morals exist.  Contrary to his ideas, morality just has to do with community behavior, of "good" and "bad."  What is "good?" Things that are positive and help the community, such as relieving people from pain (such as feeding the hungry).  What is "bad" for the community? Causing unnecessary pain, such as robbing and raping.  As should be obvious, God or theology is not needed to understand good and bad at all; and many times religion makes things worse.  That's because religious people might try to claim what is good, and justify it by "because God said so," which shuts down the thinking process.
